Nation's infrastructure overwhelmed

Across the country, reports are emerging of our nation's resources being overwhelmed by white people. Yup, you heard it here first. Whether you're looking at food stamps, health care, education aid, jobless benefits, the court system, prisons, schools, even road, park, and library use-- the entire panoply of federal, state, and local government services is being overwhelmed by demand from English speaking white people-- more scientifically called caucasians.

There is no more privacy online

I was directed by a friend today to a webpage from MoveOn, which points out in a simple graphic of the Facebook homepage, the many things about you that aren’t private on FaceBook. I found it ironic that a top area of the MoveOn page pops up to ask for your name, your email, and your zip code, in order to let MoveOn know you’re concerned about this.

Maine Republican Dumb Fucks, confused by items in borrowed classroom, vandalize.

This is a tale of ugliness, ignorance, and vindictiveness. Members of the Knox County Republican party, fresh off a stunning victory installing their own plank into the local GOP platform, and finding themselves in a classroom of Portland middle school (which had no doubt been lent to them by a loyal principal or school committee member), took umbrage at a poster displaying a quote by Marcus Garvey-- a labor activist from early in the last century. This so offended at least one of them that they proceeded to ransack the classroom for more evidence of "wrong-thinking" and indoctrination of the state's impressionable youth.

Showbiz bomb planted in showbiz capital galvanizes showbiz political party

I find it hard to reconcile the facts of the Times Square car bomb into some coherent story. The bomb, illustrated in several news outlets, looked frankly amateurish and only good for one thing-- to promote a show business response. It was a paint can full of M80's with a childs' alarm clock attached and placed beside a couple of five gallon cans of gas. There was also a locker full of fertilizer, but it was still in the plastic bags it was bought in, and if I'm not mistaken, that's not very dangerous stuff.

California governor comes back from ecological dark side

Admitting he was flummoxed by scientific studies that were one part wishful thinking and one part carnival-barker-patter, and spooked by the coverage of the BP oil rig disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, Gov. Schwarznegger has ended his support for a plan by a Texas company to drill-baby-drill into a fragile Pacific coastal area off Santa Barbara.

Socialism in the USA

There's a movement afoot getting a lot of unedited (and uncorrected) news coverage over the last year or so, and that's the identification of the current presidential administration and the term "socialism." The news media doesn't seem to be saying anything about this, so I thought I'd just jump in to provide a small correction.

Tea Baggers, Birthers, Truthers-- please note, "socialism" does not mean what you think if you're using the term to characterize the current administration.

Attention white conservative Americans

I know this is going to be a difficult topic, because Americans are able to retain a historical lesson for no more than thirty years and then it has to be repeated. That unfortunate condition notwithstanding, I have an announcement that should bring some comfort to all the white, conservative, and increasingly xenophobic Americans, in Arizona and elsewhere. Hey folks? Yes, you... if you're a white-skinned American you are an immigrant. It's possible your family immigrated here a long time ago... some have been here for almost 400 years, but like it or not, you are immigrants, or are descended from immigrants to these shores.

The anatomy of a lie told by high government

There's a bill in the United States Senate right now that will attempt to regulate the banking industry. It's a desperate attempt to replace the Glass-Steagall regulations that were enacted after the last great depression in the 1930's, and which were systematically dismantled by the Republican senate in the late 1990's. Without Glass-Steagall, those ebullient rascals on Wall Street got into all kinds of trouble, and after sucking as much as 20% of the total equity value of all the real estate in the US, as well as 30%+ of all of America's 401K's, they ended up bringing on the second worst economic crisis in our history.
